The Salve Regina University campus in Newport, Rhode Island, is nestled amongst legendary mansions and estates adorned with intricate wrought-iron fences. Malcolm Grear Designers approached the identity project conscious of the historic nature of the University‘s buildings and surroundings, and created an elegant symbol evoking the appearance of a wrought-iron “S” and “R” monogram. MGD also developed a campus-wide exterior sign system, expanded donor recognition program, and the University‘s sport identity, the Seahawks. The mark has been applied to uniforms and University marketing products.
