Art and Influence, An Exhibition in Carolina, Rhode Island

June 18, 2010

On Father’s Day, Malcolm Grear and his daughter Leah Grear will open their exhibition titled “Art and Influence” at Green Gallery in Carolina, Rhode Island. The exhibition is a look at the flow of ideas and inspiration that drive artists to create and communicate. Viewing art as a collaborative effort, Leah Grear says that her father “teaches me different ways of seeing things, at the same time completely believing in the way I see things.”

Combining his professional work with his personal, Malcolm will exhibit art alongside Leah’s collection of work from her impressive career as an artist. Malcolm Grear, an internationally recognized graphic designer, began his career at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, and went on to teach graphic design for thirty-eight years at the Rhode Island School of Design. Leah Grear, a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design in painting and printmaking, has taught for over eleven years at the Wheeler School in Providence, Rhode Island.

An opening reception will held on Sunday, June 20th from 2 to 5pm and will continue until July 11th. The Gallery is open by appointment only and may be contacted by calling 401.741.1574 or 401.491.9298.
