Malcolm Grear received the Graphis Poster Annual 2010 Gold Award for his Frida and Diego poster design. In honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Frida Kahlo and 50 years since Diego Rivera's death, The Fine Arts National Institute in Mexico organized a year long celebration. An invitation went out to 100 world-known graphic designers who are members of the AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale) to design a poster as an international visual homage to this iconic couple, Frida and Diego.
Malcolm Grear's Frida and Diego poster will be featured in the 2010 Graphis Poster Annual. The colors rendered in each artist's name suggest their unique characteristics and palette. Integral to the poster's design is its large scale—it was printed at 120 x 180 cm and displayed at the opening reception at the Club de Banqueros de México A.C.
