AIA New England is a regional council of The American Institute of Architects. Each year AIA New England holds the Regional Conference and Awards program, which rotates through the eight New England components (to learn more about AIA New England visit the organization's website).
The 2014 AIA New England Regional Conference and Design Awards Celebration will be hosted by AIA Rhode Island at the historic Biltmore Hotel in downtown Providence, and will be the closing segment of Design Week RI from September 26 – 28.
The AIA Regional Conference offers members an opportunity to connect with architects, designers, and experts from around the region, and discuss the evolution of architecture in New England. The 2014 Rhode Island Conference will also offer members a chance to visit local adaptive reuse projects, tours of the riverfront redevelopment, and first-hand insight into how Providence continues to transform.
Malcolm Grear Designers was approached to design the event's visual identity, which is a typographic expression of the Conference's theme of transformation. The identity is designed to change depending on its application – from postcards to brochures, ID tags, web banners, tote bags, etc.
